Network Virtualization

What is Network Virtualization?

Network Virtualization provides an abstraction layer that decouples physical network devices from business services delivered over the network to create a more agile and efficient infrastructure.

Network Virtualization is the logical next step after storage and server virtualization. It allows multiple applications to run side-by-side over the same physical network. Each virtual network obeys business oriented policies while providing the security, availability and performance required for each service, from SAP and mail to VOIP and video.

Virtual networks optimize the manageability and control of physical networks that are shared between multiple applications. The result is a quickly deployable, more reliable service that takes advantage of all the capabilities of the underlying hardware.

Why Network Virtualization?

Minimize Downtime & Ensure Business Continuity: Virtualization isolates the network impact of multiple applications. Operating in the strict virtualization corset, applications do not interfere with each other and automated provisioning eliminates costly configuration errors.

Protect Data and Resources: Audit and compliance capabilities in conjunction with advanced vulnerability management, reduces risk from inside and outside threats.

Guarantee Performance and Quality of Service: Separated virtual networks allocate network resources in line with business priorities to multiple applications, from SAP and mail to voice and video.

Enable Agile Business: Accelerate the roll-out of new services and advanced capabilities through automated multi-vendor provisioning.
