TBDVirtualFirewall

Enterprise-class security for VMware environments – in a simple downloadable package without enterprise complexity. The firewall solution that works for virtualization and security professionals.

Virtual servers require separate security zones on the same server. Virtual Firewalls are the most efficient way to protect VM-to-VM traffic. Among all available virtual firewalls, TBD’s solution is the only one to provide enterprise class management and datacenter-class scalability.

TBDVirtualFirewall runs on Solaris, Linux, Windows and inside a VMware Virtual Machine.

Availability: TBDVirtualFirewall will be available in beta in June 2008.

More Scalable

128 firewall ports (instead of the standard 4) enable larger virtualization pools

With virtualization targets of 10 to 20 VMs per hypervisor, 3 firewall zones (the 4th port being used for the uplink) are just not enough. Conventional virtual firewalls force you to deploy multiple firewalls per hypervisor. TBD’s patented Network Virtualization technology supports as many security zones as you need, even in standard VMware environments. The result are larger virtualization pools that are key to improved ROI.

Designed for Dynamic Environments

VMShadowing™ technology follows VMs moving between hypervisors

The business value of virtualization lies in the dynamic allocation of resources to changing business needs. The reverse side of this flexibility are dynamic security challenges. VMs appear and disappear at a moment’s notice. Technologies such as VMotion require reconfiguration of virtual firewalls on the fly. TBD’s patented VMShadowing™ enforces security policies by creating virtual networks that follow VMs as they appear, move between hypervisors and are shutdown. There is only one policy to audit and Compliance records are created automatically.

Unmatched Ease-of-Use

Visual interfaces mean short learning curves and reduced time to security

Let’s face it: virtualization is complex. TBD’s dynamic network diagrams make it easy to locate VMs, define and track security policies. Updating Visio™ diagrams at the speed of virtualization is an illusion. TBD provides the most intuitive interface for understanding your virtual topology as it changes.

Fit for Hybrid Environments

Unified management for virtual and physical firewalls cuts complexity and the cost of compliance

No environment is entirely virtual or entirely physical; security must cut through the virtual-physical boundary. TBDVirtual Firewall allows you to manage virtual and physical firewalls through the same consistent interface with policies spanning both physical and virtual devices. Currently supported physical firewall technologies are Cisco ASA, Cisco PIX and Cisco IOS. more vendors will be added shortly. SNMP and Syslog support guarantees seamless integration to th existing management infrastructure.
